The presidential elections in Russia won’t be held in the occupied territories of Ukraine. The State Duma Committee has approved amendments that provide that "if the preparation and conduct of elections or a referendum in the territory of a Russian subject after their appointment may pose a threat to life and health of Russian citizens, the elections or referendum shall be postponed at the decision of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, about which it immediately informs the President of the Russian Federation."

The State Duma has adopted amendments that allow the commanders of remote military units to independently form election commissions from servicemen, their family members, and people residing in the territories of the units.
