The European Union has developed new sanctions as part of its 12th package aimed at Russia. The proposals include a ban on exporting machine tools and components used by Russia to produce weapons. Chemicals, lithium batteries, thermostats, engines, and servomotors for unmanned aerial vehicles are also being considered in the prohibited goods list. One important aspect is the ban on Russian diamonds from January 1, 2024, as well as a gradual restriction on the import of Russian diamonds processed in the third countries. The proposals also include additional measures for more effective control of restrictions on Russian oil prices. These sanctions are expected to reduce Russia's foreign trade volume by approximately 5 billion euros.
