Top 5 surnames in the Russian media for a week (June 19- 25, 2023)

The end of last week’s top news were covering the armed mutiny of mercenaries from the “Wagner” Private Military Company. It significantly affected the public figure mention ratings in Russian media. Yevgeny Prigozhin, who had been pushed to the periphery of the information space in recent weeks, became the critical newsmaker of the "March for Justice" and climbed to the second place in the rating, conceding only to Vladimir Putin. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was pushed to the third position due to this. Alexander Lukashenko has jumped to the fourth place due to his active involvement in the negotiation process in resolving the mutiny. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, who launched his election campaign, finished on the fifth place.

The information space was analysed using a refined methodology based on monitoring 3200 Russian websites, telegram channels, YouTube channels, and significant accounts on VKontakte, Instagram and Facebook.
