Top 5 surnames in the Russian media for a week (July 24-30, 2023)

The gap between the perennial favourites mentioned in Russian media became bigger. Vladimir Putin has strengthened his position compared to other ranking participants. This was facilitated by his active positioning within the framework of the "Russia-Africa" summit. The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, confidently occupies the second place, while the third place is taken by Sergey Sobyanin, the Mayor of Moscow. The results of the Moscow mayor were influenced by the de facto started mayoral election campaign and the necessity to comment on the systematic drone attacks on Moscow's military facilities. Sergey Shoigu, who took the fourth position, attracted media interest due to his visit to North Korea. Closing the top 5 of the ranking is the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

The information space was analysed using a refined methodology based on monitoring 3200 Russian websites, telegram channels, YouTube channels, and significant accounts on VKontakte, Instagram and Facebook.
