Top 5 topics in Russian media for the week (May 1-7, 2023)

The war continues to define the information discourse in Russian media. However, alongside the officially used term "special military operation" for Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the word "war" is increasingly mentioned directly. The derivative topics of "sanctions" and "mobilization" from military actions logically occupy the third and fourth places in the mentioned ratings. Only in fifth place is the topic of "economic development", which propaganda attempts to use to convince society of stability and control over the situation.
The information space was analysed using a refined methodology based on monitoring 3200 Russian websites, telegram channels, YouTube channels, and significant accounts on VKontakte, Instagram and Facebook.
