Top 5 topics in Russian media for the week (May 8-14, 2023)

The topics related to invasion of Ukraine continue to dominate in Russian informational space. The "special military operation" traditionally stays on the top of mentions. They are followed by "sanctions" and "war in Ukraine" (a more candid name for what is happening on the front). Interest in "mobilization" is linked to Vladimir Putin's decree on the conscription of military reservists for military training. Compared to last week, the topic of "economic development" has dropped out of the top five, and instead, the top 5 is closed by "foreign agents".

The information space was analysed using a refined methodology based on monitoring 3200 Russian websites, telegram channels, YouTube channels, and significant accounts on VKontakte, Instagram and Facebook.
