The US intelligence released its annual report dedicated to the main threats facing the United States this year. Russia was named a “significant and less predictable challenge for the United States in key areas”. It is noted that the Russian Federation does not want a direct military conflict with the forces of the United States and NATO, but there is potential for it to happen.

The danger of such a scenario for the United States is in the fact that Russia has the largest and most powerful nuclear arsenal. The Russian Federation also remains a key adversary in space and the largest cyber threat to the United States. In American intelligence circles, cyber-interventions are seen as an external political tool that allows influencing decision-making in foreign countries. Taking into account that “SNIF” has become a tectonic event covering Russia's relations with the outside world, US help to Ukraine is, among other things, a way to protect its own national interests.
