The birth rate in the Russian Federation decreased by almost 11%.

According to Rosstat, the decline in the birth rate has become the strongest since 2020. In 10 months, 1.092 million children were born in the Russian Federation, or 77.8 thousand less than in the same period of 2021. According to the relative birth rate - 9 children per 100,000 population - the demographic decline has become minimal in general since 2001.
