ICARUS and the international politician will discuss in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania the attitude of Russian society towards the military aggression

On May 22, 2023, an international conference titled " Russian public attitudes towards war: Why the problem of the Russian Federation is not limited to Putin regime?" will take place in Vilnius. The Institute for Conflict Studies and Analysis of Russia will be presenting their research on Russian society at this conference to political leaders and diplomatic representatives from partner countries of Ukraine

Among the guests are members and heads of national security, defence and foreign affairs committees of parliaments, foreign ministers, defense ministers and ambassadors of countries supporting Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression.

The aim of the conference is to bring together parliamentarians and experts from the USA, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to discuss IKAR's research on public attitudes in the Russian Federation, and to evaluate strategic decisions on support to Ukraine, NATO defence policy, "Russia after the war" scenario modelling, and migration policy in the context of this research.

During the conference planning to address several topics, including the factors behind Russian society's support for military aggression against Ukraine, their willingness to engage in conflicts with neighboring countries and NATO members, the ways in which the Russian propaganda machine influences the population, and the strategies for countering such influence.
