The Kremlin continues to militarise Russian society. Russian legislator has proposed granting amnesty from criminal responsibility for mobilised personnel and contract soldiers to replenish its army reserves. Such "innovative ideas" have been previously used by the Wagner Private Military Company and have led to the fact that released individuals are regularly mentioned in criminal reports. They plan to provide the territorial defence forces with combat weapons for protecting the borders and put various "volunteer" formations under the control of the Ministry of Defence.
